Earlier this week I shared my vision for my front porch. I wanted the porch to feel traditional, but fresh at the same time. The most important part of this makeover was to take my front porch from a dark and empty space to a bright and airy staycation spot.

As you can see from the before and after photo (seen above) the dark brick just wasn’t working. It was so beautiful and I actually really loved it, but we wanted to brighten up the house (and the porch), so painting the brick was a must.

The color I chose was Divine White by Sherwin Williams, and for the trim on the front porch, we chose Black Magic by Sherwin Williams.

The inspiration for the design came from Chad and I’s beach vacation last year in California. I love that casual cali vibe that makes you feel like you’re on vacation at the beach. I didn’t however want our porch to have any sort of theme, so I made sure not to allow too many beach elements to be incorporated into the design. The idea was to make you feel like you were at a resort in southern California. With my black and white color scheme, using tropical blues as an accent, I feel like I totally accomplished that.

If you need a refresher from my last post, here is the design board I created for the space:

  1. Blue Garden Stool
  2. Outdoor Fan
  3. “H” Throw Pillow
  4. Jute Rug
  5. Rustic Round Mirror
  6. Outdoor Stripe Pouf
  7. Teal Navajo Pillow
  8. Stripe Lumbar Pillow
  9. Blue Pillow Covers
  10. Lake Sarasota Pillow
  11. Hanging Bed Swing by Four Oak Bed Swings
  12. Arizona Outdoor Couch

All of the decor pieces (for the most part) came from Wayfair.com and that fabulous hanging bed came from Four Oak Bed Swings. If I had to choose a few of my favorite elements, I’d have to say the hanging bed for sure. And let’s not forget about those stunning black and white stripe poufs from Wayfair. Those really pulled the whole look together.

And now moving on to the full reveal!

So what do you think? I’m so happy with the outcome and couldn’t be more pleased with how it all turned out. This project took some time to develop, but it was all worth it in the end. We spend so much time out here on our porch already and plan to spend many more days and nights out here in the future.

And if you’re loving that hanging bed as much as I am, then you’re in luck! I’ve got a giveaway coming up where you’ll have the chance to win one of these for yourself! More to come on that.
