If you’ve been keeping up with our kitchen renovation, then you know by now that there’s been a LOT going on. Since last fall we’ve demoed the entire kitchen and rebuilt it from the ground up. We’re so close to being finished and (believe it or not) we’re actually starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
It’s been a long time coming. Last summer we met with our pool company (Pulliam Pools) to design our pool. Construction began in the fall (you can see the entire process here) and the pool was finally complete by November. We installed our much-loved turf grass shortly after and since then we’ve been SO in love with our new backyard. The only thing missing was that finishing touch – the decor.
If you’ve been following along with our backyard makeover, you’ve seen the entire pool building process as well as the installation of our artificial turf grass. In just a matter of months, our backyard has completely transformed.
Earlier this week I shared my vision for my front porch. I wanted the porch to feel traditional, but fresh at the same time. The most important part of this makeover was to take my front porch from a dark and empty space to a bright and airy staycation spot.
If you read my last post (here), showing the before photos (and even some of the progress shots) then you know we’ve already come a long way in this makeover. The dark brick has now been painted a bright creamy white and the porch is ready for decor.
Another month has passed and I wanted to give you guys an update on the kitchen renovation as well as some of my feedback on my new goodies like the countertops, backsplash, appliances and lighting. And **spoiler alert** the kitchen still isn’t done. Shocker.
We’ve now been living in our house for nearly four months. And in those four months, I’ve been testing and analyzing our appliances so I can give you guys some of my honest feedback. Picking out appliances was a difficult process made much easier by the helpful appliance sales team at Nebraska Furniture Mart and reading reviews. Considering how much I appreciated having reviews at my fingertips, I am giving a full review of our new 30” Frigidaire Professional Freestanding Gas Range. Ok, let’s break it down!
You’ve seen them in Better Homes and Gardens. You’ve seen them in Architectural Digest. Heck. You’ve seen them ALL OVER Pinterest. They’ve become a staple in the ideal southern home and I’ve been dying to have one for quite some time. Let me introduce to you the hanging swing, also known as the hanging bed due to its literal bed-sized dimensions. I’ve been obsessing over them for some time, and here’s why.
