There is chaos at our #RyanPlaceReno, but thankfully it’s a good kind of chaos! Sure, renovations are tough, and yes, we’ve had our share of surprises considering it’s a 100-year-old house, but it’s all going to be worth it in the end. Or at least I hope!

Chad and I have been working for about 5 months on hundreds (yes, I said hundreds) of floor plan concepts to turn this 3,500 SF home into a livable space for our family. It’s an old house, so there were many rooms that were rather small. We wanted a space that still felt charming and original to the time, but also modern, fresh and open.

Since we’re in major demo mode right now, I don’t have any “pretty” photos of the progress, but I did create a virtual tour of the new floor plan of the downstairs. It took many months and a LOT of brainstorming to get to this point, so to finally share this with you guys means SO much to me! Lots of hard work finally coming into fruition.

If you’re wondering, the software we used is called floorplanner.com (the paid version). I cannot tell you how amazing this website is. We went through so many different floor plans over the last 5 months and couldn’t have done it without this website.

You don’t even have to be technical to use it. All we used was the survey from our house inspection to get the measurements and started building from there. Thankfully Chad is super precise with his measurements (because sometimes the survey isn’t detailed enough) so our floor plans were exact. I’m even able to drop in different furniture pieces to make sure the room will fit our furniture.

And if you’re wondering how I actually made my video, I used a program called Camtasia 2. I’m only doing the free 30 day trial right now to see if like it, but so far I love it!

Anyways I hope you enjoyed today’s video! To follow along in my renovation, make sure to follow along on instagram at @theblissfulbee.
